1) I have been taking Ymea for a month now without any improvement. Do you recommend to continue or to stop the treatment? I have hot flushes and night sweats.
With any new treatment I always recommend a 3-6 month trial as I think it can take this long for the body to adjust to it.
I would suggest you try Ymea for a few more months before you give up as it may still improve your symptoms.
Unfortunately the vasomotor symptoms like hot flushes and night sweats are the hardest ones to treat without conventional HRT.
2) Instructions say 1-2 capsules a day,is this one in the morning and one at night ,or can I take 2 before bed or one at bedtime and one in the night? At the moment I take 1 in the morning and 1 at night,I wake at 4am with sweats.
It really doesn’t matter how you take your capsules. It makes sense to try one capsule daily first for 4-6 weeks then if you feel the response has been inadequate increase to 2 capsules daily You may take 2 together or divide them during the day or night.
It may help their absorption if taken with food.
3) Is it safe to take Ymea with HRT?
There is little safety data available about mixing Ymea with HRT.My only concern would be the theoretical risk of overloading your body with too much oestrogen with the phytoestrogens in Ymea and the synthetic ones in HRT.
If you are going to take HRT you probably don’t need to be taking Ymea as well as the HRT should resolve your symptoms.
I would always suggest a decent trial of Ymea on its own first as it is without the long term risks of HRT.
